Will the Tata Group acquire the bottled water company Bisleri:
According to the information we have received, only talks have begun between Tata Group and Bisleri International, thus it would not be appropriate for us to comment on this agreement just yet. Negotiations for the acquisition of a stake in the bottled water company Bisleri have already begun.
Tata Consumer Products Limited is the name used by the Tata Group to conduct its consumer operations (TCPL). The Himalayan brand of water bottles is already sold by this business.
According to reports, Tata Consumer Products Limited (TCPL) has begun negotiations to acquire a stake in the Bisleri brand in order to grow its bottled water business.
However, TCPL and Bisleri International both declined to comment when reached. “The firm does not desire to comment on market speculation,” a Bisleri representative stated.
Industry experts claim that if the deal is approved, the FMCG division of Tata Group, TCPL, will be better positioned to participate more actively in the rapidly expanding bottled water market.
In the fiscal year 2020–21, Teksai Research, a market research and consulting firm, forecasts that this market will be worth around Rs 19,315 crore. This market is projected to grow at a rate of 13.25 percent yearly due to increased health and hygiene awareness among the public.
Currently, Bisleri is the market leader. The brands Kinley from Coca-Cola, Aquafina from PepsiCo, Bailey’s from Parle Agro, and Rail Neer from IRCTC are also well-known in this market.
